Ritual/tribal Drumming

For a long time I have been looking for music projects to listen that include in this or other way, ritual/tribal drumming.

I guess it should be something ethnic or alike. Authenticity is not the primary factor here though.
The song "Cleanse" by Neurosis from their album Enemy of the Sun (1993) is something resembling what I'm looking for.

Does anybody know any of such projects/bands? Can you advise me some to listen.

Re: Ritual/tribal Drumming

I'm in Broolkyn and there are many talented drummers here in NYC.

May I sujest posting flyers on the bill boards at the colleges.

Pratt Institute
NYC College of Technology
The clubs at the Village
Well you get my drift.

Also the sound of a drummer your looking for could be found in the 500 Nations soundtrack CD. Lots of ritual drumming on that cd, I love it.

For your project I think that you'll need a couple of drummers or maybe more. All depending on how large the project is going to be.

I'd do it if I had the time, but moving a large studio kit like mine around ain't easy.

Peace

Re: Ritual/tribal Drumming

Two days ago was the "Drums Around the World" when all the drummers would play their drums.

I missed it.
