aw jeeze. I suppose it depends on what kind of deal you're getting on those kits. You can really find some MUCH better setups on the (relative) cheap... I understand that you're just starting out on the drums, but you may not even like playing if that's what you're using :/

Hey Renee, Welcome! Great to have you here! I have no idea what the market in NZ is like. Get yourself a kit to bang on to start out!

It all depends on your genre of music. Rock is a huge avenue, if you can narrow it down some what and at what price range.

Welcome

Well Bit the bullet and got myself a PEACE (celebrity series) kit. Not a bad start but I can tell right away I need new cymbals. I'm guessing if they don't sound good now, they neva will!

Re: Nz chick from bass to drums

sounds like a great first kit! If you're area is anything like here, you should be able to pick up some A Zildjians or similar by Sabian (mentioned these two as there are more of their cymbals in circulation than any other makers I believe, & Paiste tends to be more expensive), used for a good price. Just check for cracks, key-holing, bends on the edge, and flea bites. You can usually get them used for a fraction of what they cost new. Look forward to your next update!
