We have a member here that brazes his back together and gets them to sound good, you might want to look into having him repair them. "themazk" is his user name and he has several posts in this section near the top about repairing cymbals.

Re: Split Cymbals

use as practice cymbals.....as garden feature's bird tables wind chimes or have them melted down and made into a snare drum shell ...

Re: Split Cymbals

Well to answer the question by the OP, I try to never pay more than 25 shipped to my door for any cracked cymbal. For a damage ZBT 18" crash/ride, if it is the older round stamp it may even be worth saving lol, seriously I have 3 of them. The older round stamp 18" crash rides are actually quite decent IMO.
But if you like yours than perhaps a tig welded repair may be for you. Although quite frankly you could most likely get another one, used, for the price to repair it, depending on the level of damage.

Re: Split Cymbals

Is it true that a small crack can be stopped in its tracks by drilling a small hole where it ends? I've had a small crack in a Zidjian 14" crash for many years and it hasn't gotten worse or deadened the sound all that much. But I'm super lazy when it comes to drum maintenance.

Re: Split Cymbals

I have seen that done and it seems to stop the crack from running any further.
