I was chomping at the bit myself over Christmas and decided not to kick myself over missing an opportunity to get a set of Yamaha
's-at least a 4 tom and bass setup (already got two sweet Yamaha
snares-12 and 13 inch explosive little beasts-which I previously used with a black Mapex
Mars kit). Paying for the drums was the easy part. Receiving the right kit was an adventure, to say the least.
After getting a conventional 5 piece Stage Custom Advantage set in the wrong color (Natural Wood), I call the Richmond Guitar Center-the direct seller- and ask them what's going on. They said the 4 tom bass kit (sunburst color) was gone. I take some time to think about what I should do at this point. I call back to ask what discount I could get for a 10" rack tom. They asked me to hold on a moment. Afte they came back on the line, they told me what had happened is they forgot to pull that set off the Hold Shelf! So Richmond GC pays
for the return authorization and payes for the correct set to get to my house.
Now it's UPS' turn, the tracking information told me the drums were placed on overnight shipping and nothing happened for a day past that notification!! When the drums arrive in Johnstown according to the online tracking info on Friday Dec 20th, it says, the drums will not come until Monday! I quickly wrote down that tracking number and went straight to the service center with one thing on my mind: to get that drumset in my truck! When I got there, the guys told me my set was on the truck being delivered. Thankfully, I saw the guys unloading my new babies in a little over an hour leaving me to only have to say one thing: "Just leave them down here."
