Re: New Kit...

How is your range of motion coming? Are you rehab 'n with a dangling soup can or are you past that now?

Thumbs up Re: New Kit...

Range of motion is outstanding. I've been in PT since 2 weeks after surgery (when stitches were removed) and I'm in week 12 post op now. My main issue is strength and I'm working on that at PT. I'm into the weights and machines now. That said, I can't curl sh#t with the arm the shoulder work was done on, but I'm making way. I'm able to do quite a bit more now than I was initially. I'm in PT 3 days a week for about 2 hours a session. I'm able to do push ups on a kitchen counter type height. So the improvement rate is slow and steady...

Re: New Kit...

It is however sloooooooooooow going, as i've got a new muscle system at the top of my arm and there is a substantial learning curve... Doing some playing but nothing serious, as the arm continues to acclimate to the new situation it finds itself in...

Wow still having trouble? I could understand tight still, but pain is a problem. Are you still in PT?

Re: New Kit...

Not in physical therapy any longer though I do lift weights daily. Not in ANY pain, but since I had the slap-tear repair, the configuration of my upper arm muscles in my right arm has been changed. With a slap-tear, they have to detach the long head of the bicep (due to the tear that is down in the joint) and re-attach that long head of the bicep under the Pectoral muscle in the right chest-this is the main method for repair as a tear down in the joint can not be resolved). The longhead of the bicep is then re-attached to the bone under the Pec, using 2 Ti screws. This 'reconfiguration' results in muscle groups needing to learn new routes and methods.

So for now the gist; I am able to play well for several songs before I begin to have muscle spasms and cramping. I am working through it but it is slow going, getting your bicep 'reconfigured' to work in a different method as it's muscle structure has changed.

Re: New Kit...

Well that all makes sense now. Good to see you are able to play for a bit before you feel any effects, that has to be a good sign.
