Mimic or Original

So you'd like to play like other drummers.

All in all that's fine just be yourself..

Ever thing is origination to do what counts.

What to play when it's called for.

In the beat to hit it when it's needed.

The roll, symotpthonysym. In other words to be synchronized.

Play your part because it's a way of life and giving.

So who are you?

A place in the part or are you looking to be the lead?

Re: Mimic or Original

Another big part of my influences are 1960s rock drummers (and Brann). My playing's not done intentionally to copy them, but because I play drums as a melody instrument toms play a bit of a roll.

Lots of repetitious riffs. Great drummer in other words.

Re: Mimic or Original

What do you guys think about Richard Christy? I've been trying to mimic his style lately, but just for practice purposes and out of curiosity to see if I can do it. No success so far.
