Post Earthtone drumheads


thinking about getting a pair of these for the snare.. anyone use before? Theyre supposedly made of goatskin.. never really tried an organic type head and i want to experience a little bit..

i don't think i'd ever let anything made of goat guts touch my beautful drums but being animal skin i'd think that they would be much quieter than fiberskins

Just remember that if you ever liston to an old recording of jazz or somtething they were made of calf skin

thats what all the old drum heads were made of up untill they invented mylar and I dont think that was untill the late 50's.

I would say you might get a rich deep sound out of them depending on the type of wood your drums are made of and how you tune them.

yeah my thinking is... why go back in time when we've already advanced in technology? unless you're going for that old school tone.. but you can probaly even do that by tuning the new stuff a certain way... just my thoughts
