playing guitar hero can help you

If any of you are familiar with guitar hero then i'd have to say its a good thing. my friends have been raving about the game for months and i always figured it would be a stupid game and a big joke to play but last week my buddy brought if over and we played it and he left it here for me to play this week. and i have to say i'm impressed, its actually kinda fun. and on top of that i've always had trouble with rushing the beat, and i feel that the game has already helped me improve on that, and if i continue playing the game i feel it will really help alot. for those that don't know the game comes with a mini plastic guitar with 5 buttons on the neck and a "strum" button on the body, and you have to strum along to notes that are moving on the screen, so you have to play the right colored notes exactly as they happen in the song. anyone else play guitar hero and know what i'm talking about?

oh and i know that i could do the same thing playing with a metronome but i've always been stubborn with that and this is a fun way for me to get around that.

Yes!Guitar hero.My wife came home from birthday party where they played the game and gave it rave reviews.I'm thinking of spending a bit of tax return money on the game.Nice post AJ.Although better suited for the off topic section of the forums.

Ahh guitar hero, so many band practices killed because of that game.... you're right it does help with finger speed and keeping time. I like to think im one of the few drummers who can play the game (i play on hard as opposed to easy like a lot of other drummers i know)

Widdly Wah!!!!

I love playing that game! I normally play it on hard and sometimes even expert. I can get about halfway through the game on expert before I get decimated.

To apply it to drumming, it would help a lot with building your finger technique.
