Re: Need Help Buying Mid-Priced Set

Would it be right to say that most of these mid-priced sets are equivalent in quality, there are just a few unique quirks between them, but tuning, heads and cymbals really make the diference? thats really what im trying to find out, b/c it seems there isnt really a unique brand in this price range

Try the sonor Birch it's in your price range and I think it's what your looking for. You can order it from Musicians friend. Good Luck SLINGERLAND

I'm thinking I'll focus on the new mapex meridian, would you guys recommend the standard, 12,13,16, toms or the fusionease 10,12,14 toms?

Re: Need Help Buying Mid-Priced Set

Or I could go with the Pro M and get maple shells instead of birch for the same price, there doesn't seem to be much difference b/t m series and meridian, right?

Talking Re: Need Help Buying Mid-Priced Set

Hi HR,
I am chiming-in with Damo, Skin- and Slinger-, I am very spoiled myself with my vintage Premier kit, AWSOME sound!
But you know, sometimes you are just looking for maybe something new..... (this is called NKF, New Kit Fever)
So I tried the Sonor 3007, very, very nice, this would definitively my choice.
I got a little taste of the Quality of the Sonor's because I added a 10" Sonor snare
(Special Edition) to my set up and I absolutely love it!

Cheers and Happy drumming,

Harry
