Re: ready to rock

Welcome greg,
So all of you are newbies to the forum and to drumming. May I suggest a little thing called rudiments. Practice all you can and you will reach your destiny.

Check out this site:
Drum lessons by Jacob Kaye musician, drummer, private drum teacher and his band - offers professional drum lessons .

So have fun and happy drumming to all.

Re: ready to rock

I don't think I said I'm a newbie to drumming... I am new to the forum though. I have over 15 years of experience. It's not as much as a lot of guys on here, but I can help out with a thing or two. Still, I've learned a lot since joining. For instance, last night, I read in the post entitled "Agh Neighbours" that a cheap method of drum muffling is buying a couple of $1 mousepads. I can't wait to try that one out. See you around!

Re: ready to rock

Sorry about that little misunderstanding P. I've been drumming over 50 years now. I also teach the kids in the hood and help them out. I take broken drums tossed out by the drum shops. Fix them and give them to the kids in the hood.

That's the first time I've ever heard about using mouse pads. I have used DRUM PADS for practicing. Maybe I need to spend a little more time reading mags.

I don't think you will get that bounce on the sticks. But I'll give it a try. Always looking for new ideas, if they work.
