Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal

Yeah, those are both very good investments.
I love my sensitone.
Love the sound, and explosivness.
I've played the Taye.
The best pedal for the money for sure.
The hard part is desiding wich one you want.
Good Luck.

Just a suggestion, but if you want a new snare because yours rings after you hit it, try moongel or control rings - there very cheap, and it makes your snare sound much better - I did that and bought a double bass pedal with the money I saved for a snare

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal

Der, you misdirected Alec on the snare.
THe Pearl sensitone and the SenSiTione Elite are 2 different snares and the Elite is a little more expensive. The Elite is made of a Brass Alloy and the SensiTone is made of a Steel
Alloy. Pretty common mistake.
Just search SensiTone on MF or Guitarcenter.com.
Make sure you click the right one.

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal

There is a Pearl Vision Sensitone Steel which was released with the Vision series drum sets, and the Pearl Sensitone Elite Steel which is shown on the Pearl website.

The Sensitone Elite shown in the link I posted is available in Brass, Phosphor Bronze, Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Steel and looks to have nicer hoops and hardware, where as the Vison Sensitone looks to only be available in Steel.

Not sure why the Vision Sensitone is not shown on their website.

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal

I have the same question.
I have the Vision one.
They sell it seperetly on websites.
The stainless steel sensiTone Comes with Pearls "Superhoops"
Better than the standard ones on the Vision snare (obviously.)
The one on the website is also 1.5 inches deeper than the vision snare.
But the vision snare is awesome to me.
Looks like Pearl has 2 different styles or "series" of SensiTone. The Superhoop version and the Vision one.

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal

have you only had this kit for 7 months or have you only been playing for 7 months? if playing then id deffinitly hold off from getting a double pedal just yet though we all know how tempting it can be. i played drums for 7 years till i got my first double bass setup. im not saying you should wait THAT long but atleast a couple of years because i keep seeing people buy double pedals wayyyy too early and just focusing on playing as fast as possible bass without learning some of the most important techniques using your hands.

if you feel you are at a good enough level now to upgrade to a double then fair enough and good luck to you XD
