Yah, I'm new

I have been searching for a drum forum, because I need somewhere to get tips and reviews to buy my first kit. I found a different site, but I signed up and had to wait about 3 days (And I am still waiting) for my account to activate so I can post.

That's pretty much it.

600$; Anything below that (I want a choice in cymbals, and I want to get mutes ($75) and have at least $200 for cymbals, PLUS all hardware (Minus cymbal stands, but they would be nice) and 3 toms); Rock/Metal, I have played a real set before but I am just looking for a set that will last me at least a year, with high-end cymbals, because I can replace the heads on toms

Thanks for help.

Oh...
Let me see....
First of all, welcome to the forum!
Anyway, does this one work for you?
Buy Pearl Vision VX925/C 5-Piece Drum Shell Pack with Free 10" Tom | Shell Packs | Musician's Friend
These are great cymbals:
Buy Paiste PST 5 Crash/Ride | Hi-Hat Cymbals | Musician's Friend
Hats too...:
Buy Paiste PST 3 Hi-Hats | Hi-Hat Cymbals | Musician's Friend
Take a look at this crash too: You might like it.
Buy Paiste PST 5 Rock Crash | Crash Cymbals | Musician's Friend
AMAZING HARDWARE::
Buy Pacific Drums by DW P/D 800 Boom Cymbal Stand | Cymbal Stands & Arms | Musician's Friend
Get 2 of those.
Hi-hat stand:
Buy Pacific Drums by DW HH700 Hi-Hat Stand | Hi-Hat Stands | Musician's Friend
Tall me if you like anyof that stuff.
I play Pearl visions.
They are the most amazing drums I've ever played.
It would be great If you had any of that stuff (like hardware)
From an older set as I'm pretty sure all that stuff goes over your budget.
Happy drumming my friend!

Re: Yah, I'm new

I figured out that my budget is actually $823. I am saving until my birthday and am going to buy myself a set.

I have a chart of how much each item costs. There is no crash cymbal because I will probably save for some cheap A Customs or something.

Shells----------------$500 (Those Pearls)
Mutes-----------------$80 (HQ Percussion)
Ride Cymbal---------$68 (Meinl HCS. I listened to it and love with the sound. I think I had better buy this before they realize that they put it too cheap.)
Hi-Hat---------------$121 (Paiste PST 5 Medium Hats)
HH Stand-------------$50 (DW HH700)
Cymbal Stand-------$20 (I found this for really cheap. Sound Percussion straight stands)
-----------------------$775/823

A used kit may be right up your alley.

Try EBay or Craigslist.

Then again you could either save you money and get something better.

The holiday Sale are coming up soon.

Infero is the Guru when it comes to finding good sales.

Right little buddy?

OhmygodOhmygodOhmygodOhmygodOhmygod......

I found the BEST deal on a double bass set with all hardware and 5 TOMS!!!

It is a Pulse 8-piece (Here) And looks really nice. This leaves about $200 for cymbals, so now I can get a crash cymbal AND a nice set of hats. Not to mention a ride... And I will still have a stand for an extra crash when I get the money.

D00d, that sounds like a good deal, but if you want any kind of decent kit, dont go buying an 8 piece kit for $549. for that many drums at that price, you cant get quality drums. thay may last you a while, but not long.

also, i would wait to go double bass until you are more experienced. the kit jim suggested looks good.

I would sell the extra bass drum, as I don't need it (And can't fit it into my room). Besides, it's the heads that wear out, not the drums. I could replace the heads. The stands I could replace. I would have to buy my own cymbals anyway, so no big deal there.

The kick pedal... I am going to replace that with a double anyway. Everything there is replaceable for $50 or less (Heads are individual.)
