Re: Young drummer (quite good for age yet low oppurtunity)

TainoJim,
I can do the research, no sweat. Thanks, deanc54, for bringing it up at the next meeting.

Hey Elder08!

Good plan, great set form Pearl! I checked out what I beleive to be the First Act drum set you have now. I'll bet you could get $200 for your current set to go towards the Pearl Set if you get busy and advertise all over the place. Put posters up in places you know other drummers may frequent. Put them up in your school and start talking it up about the great deal you have to offer some lucky perspective drummer. One thing I've learned,..cost sometimes is no indication of quality. The old saying, 'you get what you pay for' is usually true, but that doesn't mean that everything that costs alot is the best quality thing you can find for the money. Check out the websites (like ebay) for drum kits and deals you can bid on. Someone is out there selling the kit you want to buy. I have a Stagg DH 13" thin splash cymbal that cost $38 brand new. It is as good or better than a similar Zildjan that costs $138. Put your current drums up for sale (after really giving them a good cleaning, tuning, polish, etc.), and immediately start saving for your new set. Manifest (keep thinking 'I will have this set of Pearl drums') this set for yourself and before you know it it will happen!

Hey dxtremeiispecial (and Taino Jim),

I talked to the Founder of our organization (I think someone from Drumset Connect sent her an email over the weekend,..thanks!) over the weekend, and we are excited about doing all we can to help set up programs such as ours all over the country. It's all about the aspiring musicians that exist everywhere! I will let you know what we come up with. Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime for anything at all. You can reach me here on your site, or through the Foundation's website.
